❗ Section 1: Core Experiment Principles ❗
1.1. Respect for the Experiment and Participants:
Insults, hate speech, discrimination of any kind, excessive toxicity, and any behavior hindering constructive participation by other Subjects are strictly forbidden. We are here for a unique experience, not personal attacks.
Respect the Curators (Administration) and their decisions. If you disagree, use the appropriate channels for appeals.
1.2. One Account Per Subject:
Using multiple accounts (alts, multi-accounts) to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited and will result in the permanent exclusion (ban) of all associated accounts from the Experiment.
1.3. Gameplay Context:
Version: The server runs on Minecraft 1.5.2. Ensure your client matches.
Concept: You are within a limited world with finite resources. The economy is managed by "The System" and influenced by player actions. Survival, adaptation, competition, and cooperation are key elements.
⚔️ Section 2: PvP, Raiding & Interaction ⚔️
2.1. PvP (Player vs. Player):
Enabled: PvP is fully enabled outside of designated safe zones (e.g., the initial spawn area, if applicable). Conflict is part of the Experiment.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your own safety and the security of your gear outside safe zones.
2.2. Raiding & Resource Acquisition:
Permitted: Breaking into and raiding other Subjects' bases to acquire resources and eliminate competition is permitted and considered part of the Experiment.
Destruction During Raids: Breaking blocks to gain entry, retrieve resources, or disable defenses is allowed.
2.3. "Experimental Integrity" (Anti-Grief Clause):
Prohibited: Actions solely designed to maliciously destroy and prevent another player from participating in the Experiment, without any reasonable goal of acquiring resources or gaining a strategic advantage, are discouraged and may be subject to review by System Curators (Admins). Examples include:
- Excessive, targeted spawn camping of the same player solely to prevent them from playing.
- Completely leveling a base to the ground far beyond what's necessary to loot it (e.g., filling the area with lava/water, destroying every single dirt block out of spite).
- Creating massive, non-functional, or excessively ugly structures purely to obstruct others (lag machines, claiming land without purpose).
- Blocking access to essential public server features (if any exist) without reason.
Goal: Compete fiercely, seize resources, eliminate rivals, but let your actions serve the purpose of survival and dominance within the Experiment, not just malicious disruption.
2.4. Scams & Deception:
Deceiving players during trades (scamming) is permitted, but be warned – it will likely damage your reputation. The System observes but does not intervene in the fairness of deals between Subjects. (Note: This rule may be subject to change based on Experiment data.)
Forming alliances and betraying them is part of the social dynamics.
⛔ Section 3: Prohibited Modifications & Actions ⛔
3.1. Cheats & Unauthorized Software:
The use of any cheat clients, hacks, scripts, auto-clickers, X-Ray (resource packs or mods), or any other modification or software providing an unfair gameplay advantage is strictly forbidden.
Consequence: Permanent exclusion from the Experiment (ban) without warning or appeal.
3.2. Exploiting Bugs & Duplication:
Intentionally exploiting server or game bugs (item duplication, glitching through walls, etc.) for advantage is forbidden.
If you discover a bug, you must report it to the Curators in the appropriate Discord channel. Reporting critical bugs may be rewarded (at Curator discretion). Abusing discovered bugs will result in a ban.
3.3. Intentionally Causing Lag:
Building contraptions or performing actions with the primary purpose of causing excessive server load (lag machines) is prohibited.
⚖️ Section 4: Interaction with "The System" & Curators ⚖️
4.1. Reporting Issues & Cheaters:
Use the designated Discord channels to report bugs or suspected cheating. Provide as much evidence as possible (screenshots, video, coordinates, time, usernames).
4.2. Item/Resource Restoration:
General Policy: NO rollbacks or item restorations. Project Scarcity is designed to be harsh. Loss is part of the experiment, even due to unfortunate events. Restoring items or rolling back parts of the world can have unpredictable consequences for the live economy and other players' progress.
Exception Clause (Cheating): In rare and exceptionally clear-cut cases where a cheater demonstrably caused significant, game-altering losses to multiple players or the server economy (e.g., mass item duplication and distribution, wiping multiple major bases using cheats), and the actions are undeniably proven through logs or other verifiable means, Curators may consider limited, targeted interventions at their sole discretion. This is NOT guaranteed.
Individual Losses Due to Cheating: Items/money lost in specific PvP or raid interactions involving a cheater will generally NOT be refunded. While the cheater will be banned, reversing the specific consequences for individual players is usually not feasible without undermining the server's core philosophy or impacting the economy. Our primary response is the swift and permanent removal of the cheater.
4.3. Curator Decisions:
Decisions made by the Administration (Curators) are final. Disputes and appeals should be handled via the ticket system or DMs with admins in Discord, not in public chat channels.
✨ Section 5: Discord & Communication ✨
5.1. Discord Conduct:
Adhere to the standard Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Use channels for their intended purpose (no spamming in #rules, etc.).
Do not abuse mentions (@everyone, @here, @Admin roles).
5.2. Rule Updates:
Curators reserve the right to modify and update these Experiment Protocols. Changes will be announced in the #announcements channel (or equivalent). You are responsible for staying informed about the current rules.
By joining the Project Scarcity server, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Experiment Protocols.
Good luck, Subject. May The System find your data... interesting.
